Nearly twenty years ago when Helen Blake first began painting it was a folk art class and flowers were the subject but she soon went on to paint animals for a few years.

 The pastel portraits emerged in 1999 at a time of soul searching about her life purpose.  Her passion for painting and her strong interest in mysticology producing fascinating visual images. 

Her art is intuitive and has a unique sense of colour and style.   She allows the painting to guide her rather than the other way around because often the energy of the ‘sitter’ or subject will determine how it is drawn.  The portraits are complete only when she feels it is an accurate depiction of whom she senses.

Her pictures have brought joy to many people and the paintings are hung in kitchens in Egypt, homes in Singapore plus several states of Australia, her homeland.

She loves to write and reading occupies a large proportion of her time also.   Some of her favourite books are 'The Wheel of Life' by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, 'Practicing the Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle and currently biographies on early aviation and the history of WWI.

These days she is a published artist - with the commissioning for the Isis Lotus Oracle cards (see Products), for which Helen travelled to Egypt to get in touch with the Egyptian energies in order to paint them, she now has a further sense of pride and accomplishment.  That process was an enjoyable one and at the same time presented her with another learning curve working with different energies. 

Since then she has been creating more inspirational works such as can be found in the Card Design section.  These simple messages and images are received intuitively and it is hoped will give you feelings of being loved, experiencing simple joy and always that there is hope.

Helen’s paintings are not only pastel, she loves oils and acrylic, it all depends on the subject and the requirement.  And she enjoys discovering new ideas which will bring joy to others.  There is always something on the drawing board ready to be brought to life!
